If you haven’t already heard about the buzzed about bridal event that took place in Minneapolis last week, we’ve got the scoop on the unforgettable evening. The Big Fake Wedding is a bridal fair like no-other, it’s disguised as an actual wedding! Future brides, grooms, friends and family attend the event as “wedding guests” and have the opportunity to see a wedding played out to get ideas for their own big day. The Forever Bride girls teamed up with The Big Fake Wedding as a media partner and had a front row seat to the entire evening. If you were there, you got a glimpse of our fabulous booth designed by Girl Friday Creative. Check out the hashtag #iamforeverbride on Instagram to see photos!
The Big Fake Wedding made its first appearance in Minneapolis last week, August 27, 2015 at Le Méridien Chambers, a picturesque backdrop for the entire evening. The guests were welcomed with adorable swag bags filled with freebies, coupons, vendor information and an itinerary of the event. First, an emotional vow-renewal ceremony took place between a real (completely in love) couple. The beautiful bride walked down the aisle to “Boom Clap” by Charlie XCX, how fun is that?
Dinner, champagne, a variety of desserts and an adorable first dance followed the ceremony. This goes without saying, but the s’mores bar presented by North Mallow Co. was a huge hit. The dance floor opened up and so did the Tunnel of Love. The Tunnel of Love is where vendors got to showcase their skills. Rather than being handed a business card and sent on their way, a process that happens at other bridal fairs, vendors were able to take the time and talk to guests and answer questions. Guests went “trick-or-treating” to vendor booths, picking up small gifts, business cards and were able to mingle with local wedding professionals. Tablescapes were presented by different event planners and a variety of invites for the event were were given to each guest. Vendors were given a mood board of the wedding's theme before the big night so they were able to create a look with their own style. The Big Fake Wedding is truly a unique bridal event; Future brides and grooms were able to see vendors in action and get ideas for their own wedding.
This festive, personalized experience is a refreshing take on the crowded bridal fairs we’ve all heard of or been to. The event had a nice flow throughout the night; Guests were able to visit different vendors at ease while sipping a cocktail. The Forever Bride team had an incredible time meeting amazing local vendors and lovely brides and grooms all night. Our only wish is that it didn’t have to end. If you didn’t have the chance to attend this year’s event in Minneapolis, be sure to keep an eye out for 2016! For more photos and event listings in different U.S. cities, visit thebigfakewedding.com
